Bruise Cruise Festival 2012 / The Togas

Bruise Cruise offers true music fans a chance to witness their favorite bands in a unique, intimate, rock festival atmosphere while being whisked away to exotic locales on board a cruise ship for three days of tropical mayhem. Only 500 guests will be able to attend BC2. Amazing goings-on from the first cruise include: one bass guitar being launched into the Atlantic, one successful marriage proposal during a Ty Segall set, one couple meeting, falling in love, and getting engaged, one Black Lips video being made, and two documentaries being filmed.

Bruise Cruise 2 will include multiple concerts at sea, a party in Nassau, Bahamas, open-bar cocktail hours, a soul dance-off with cash prizes, comedy shows, lectures, workshops, and a puppetry breakfast hour with Miss Pussycat. Amenities featured on board include: A casino, resort-style pools, hot tubs, miniature golf, water parks, fine dining, all-you-can-eat buffets, and more. The price of one ticket will cover all entertainment, lodging, meals, limited-edition vinyl, Bruiser gift bags, and even some drinks.

And of course what I'm most excited about: The ultimate cover band The Togas featuring Ty Segall, Phillip of Strange Boys, Shannon of Shannon and the Clams and Lance of Reigning Sound make their debut on Bruise Cruise 2012! Get your tickets ya'll!

Allah-Las - Catamaran / Long Journey

Easily becoming one of my favorites the Allah-Las are a jangly garage four-peice from San Francisco. Definite psychedelic garage-surf with fuzzy harmonies comes to mind. Their first and only 7" single is out via Pres Records, and is unfortunately (for me and you) sold out! Check out their videos below

Other Lives - For 12

With all the excitement of Radiohead touring (and coming to Austin) I'm sure you all have forgotten to check out the accompanying opening band Other Lives. Some fairly enjoyable Folkish-"Indie"-Pop. Is it March yet?

A captivating piece about the Insane Clown Posse subculture. You will meet drunk people, high people, smoking pregnant people, naked people, and figure out exactly why they love eachother, (drugs???). Enjoy!

Mark Sultan (BBQ) @ Mohawk 11/15/11 & New Album's - Also New King Khan Solo Record!

Mark Sultan recently played at The Mohawk on 8/12/11 with The Dum Dum Girls, The Night Beats, & The UFO Club, but he's back again to support his TWO! new album's entitled "Whatever I Want" & "Whenever I Want". If you missed him the first time around here is your chance! On Tuesday the 15th A Giant Dog and DJ Richard Henry will be accompanying.

The two new album's, out now on In The Red Records, are both available on vinyl or buy the CD with both of the album's on it. To make it complicated, for those elitist's, they all have different pictures on the covers. If your still hungry for more BBQ you have THREE! more new 7" records to choice from. A solo (Mark Sultan) 7", A King Kahn & BBQ Show 7", or a 7" of his other side project "The Ding Dongs". These are all limited to 650 on black wax/ 350 on white wax, and are available on Mark's new label Sultan Records. Damn, get out your wallet!

Arish Ahmad Khan aka King Khan of: King Khan and the Shrines, Tandoori Knights, and formerly of King Khan and the BBQ show, just released a solo album: "Scion A/V Presents: The King Khan Experience." This is his first release since the 2009 album with BBQ entitled: "Invisible Girl". You can purchase and listen to the new album at Scion Audio Visual Records. You should probably listen to it first. Kinda disappointing for the King!
