The flip side finds Lockett collaborating with his fiancee, Shayda Yavari on a blown-out garage romp tune. Release under Audraglint Records you can get the 10" in the U.S for $12, Canada for $16, and World for $22.

The Ty Segall / White Fence collaborative album "Hair" is now available for pre-order through Drag City Records. The scheduled release date is April 24, 2012. The LP version can be purchase here, for $18 flat, no shipping charges. There is also the CD version available, for $14.

Japandroids - Celebration Rock - LP PRE-ORDER

Japandroids is a two piece band from Vancouver, BC, comprised of Brian King and David Prowse. Japandroids are 1 guitar, 1 set of drums, and 2 vocalizers. They call it garage rock. They don't care what you call it, as long as it's not minimal. Japandroids are maximal - a two piece band trying to sound like a five piece band. 

Their new album entitled "Celebration Rock" is coming out on PolyVinyl Records June 5th. To go along with the album they will be releasing a 7" entitled "The House That Heaven Built," which will be out on May 15th. "Celebration Rock" will be available on limited edition 180 gram red vinyl, which is limited to 1000 copies, and also on black wax. "The House That Heaven Built" will be on clear vinyl. The B-side to the 7" is a cover of "Jack the Ripper" by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.

POND - Beard, Wives, Denim

I can't express enough my love for the Western Australian band POND. Joseph Ryan, Nick Allbrook and Jay Watson, members of the band Tame Impala, killed it during the SXSW performance I attended at Club DeVille bar. 

The crowd seemed to not know what they were in for. POND came out swinging with their psychedelic grooves. They sounded more punk then their studio recordings. The lead singer spent time in the crowd, on top of the crowd, rolling around on the ground in punk rock fury, and flirting with disaster on top of the speakers. I wanted to say he was wicked drunk but I think he was just a great show-men. They were by far my favorite performers throughout the exhausting week. 

"The band's fourth album, Beard, Wives, Denim is an audio diary of ten friends' strange, terrible and blissful time in the country trying in vain to be a wholesome family band. It sounds just like it, distorted and woozy and fractured and ultimately nostalgic and loving." ~ Modular Records.

Ty Segall / The Feeling of Love - Tour Split 7" - 2012

Ty Segall is back with another one. This time with the french band The Feeling of Love. Released under Permanent Records the split 7" will contain the new track "It's A Problem" by Ty Segall, and "I Could Be Better Than You But I Do't Want To Change" by The Feeling of Love. The release is limited to 750 copies, 200 of which are pressed on colored vinyl. Colored copies will only be sold by the bands mentioned or at Permanent Records.

No siting on how/where to buy just yet. Permanent Records doesn't have a link yet, but my local record store (Waterloo Records) said it has a March 13th release date.
