R.I.P. Napster

After today, Napster will officially cease to exist. As CNN reports, the company has merged fully with Rhapsody, who acquired Napster from Best Buy last month. Best Buy purchased Napster in 2008, and will now hold a small stake in Rhapsody.
A catalyst for music discovery, as well as a pioneer of piracy, Napster launched in 1999 during the Netscape Navigator age of the internet. In just two years of existence in its original form, Napster jumpstarted the digital music revolution, as one of the web's first widespread peer-to-peer file sharing services. After it was originally shut down in 2001, Napster made several attempts to go legit as a legal music service, but did not succeed.
You will always have a little piece of my heart Napster, R.I.P.
